Hand-painted in Beamsville, Ontario

A little happiness, painted onto stone.

Suzy's Nature Rocks is the small studio of Susan Emmett, an artist in Beamsville, Ontario. She paints garden stones and other little pieces one at a time — flowers, bees, ladybugs, whatever the garden is doing that week.

Little pieces with a lot of heart

Every stone is painted by hand, one at a time. No two are ever quite the same — and that's rather the point.

Painted by hand, always

Susan collects, washes, paints and seals each stone herself — small batches, slow work, real character in every one.

Straight from the garden

Daisies, ferns, bumblebees, ladybugs — the designs come from what's actually growing and buzzing around Beamsville.

Made to make you smile

A pop of colour by the front step, a friendly face tucked among the hostas. Garden art that's meant to be found.

Meet the artist

Hi, I'm Susan Emmett

I live and paint in Beamsville, Ontario, tucked under the escarpment in the middle of Niagara's orchards and vineyards.

This started the way most good hobbies do — puttering in the garden, a box of paints on the kitchen table, and a stone that looked like it wanted a ladybug on it. One turned into a dozen, the dozen turned into a shelf, and now there's a whole little collection of them.

Each piece is painted slowly and sealed to live happily outdoors, among your plants or along a path. If something in the shop catches your eye, or you'd like a custom piece for your own garden, I'd love to hear from you.
